UV Lighting & Indoor Air Quality

Florida air is humid year-round, and the things growing in a damp air handler are exactly the things you don’t want circulating through your home. UV lighting + the right filtration + dehumidification keeps the system clean and the indoor air actually breathable.

What we install

• UV germicidal lamps inside the air handler (kills mold and bacteria on the coil)
• Upgraded media filters (replaces the standard 1-inch with higher MERV options)
• Whole-home dehumidification for homes that feel sticky even when the AC is running
• Drain line cleaning and condensate pump service to stop standing water in the handler

When to look at IAQ

• Visible mold in the air handler closet or around the vents
• Musty smell when the AC kicks on
• Allergy or respiratory symptoms that get worse indoors
• Indoor humidity stays above 60% even with the AC running
• Standing water around the air handler or under the unit outside

How we approach it

1. Look first. What symptoms are you seeing? Mold, humidity, odors, allergies — different problems, different solutions.
2. Test if needed. Humidity readings, coil inspection, drain line check.
3. Right-size the fix. A UV lamp is often enough on its own. Sometimes the right move is a filter upgrade plus dehumidification. We won’t oversell.
